Montréal’s SBC gallery presents a retrospective of Chloé Roubert’s pigeon research and urban fauna projects, The live projection of Université de Montréal’s falcon nesting box in the space offers a contrast to the analytical approach of her maps. The exhibition hopes to articulate a dialogue between art, anthropology, citizen-research, science production, urbanism and environmental problematics.
Curated by students in art history at UQAM, under the direction of Christina Contandriopoulos and Valeria Tellez Niemeyer, it was accompanied by a Round table discussion: "Urban Captures, Visibility and Media Speciesism" (with Chloé Roubert, Eve Belisle, Vincent Lavoie, Christina Contandriopoulos, Sophie Dubeau Chicoine), a podcast: "Feeding of pigeons is prohibited" (with Guillaume Éthier, Chloé Roubert, Christina Contandriopoulos and Béatrice Poitras)
